evap emmisions control system leak large and small.

My boss hit the ass end of my car pretty good then I started to get these codes. Could this be just a loose exhaust system? Or is this the sensors under the hood?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks Warden

Hi Warden

Code 442 a small leak has been detected in the Evaporative Emission System.

Possible causes are:

Loose gas cap
A leak somewhere in the Evap pipework (connections or pipes)
Hole in the gas tank

Code 455 is a substansial leak or blockage in the Evaporative emission System.

Possible causes are:

Missing gas cap
Fuel vapor control valve stuck
Loose, cracked or cut hoses
Pinched or blocked hoses
Fuel Tank Pressure (FTP) sensor damaged
Damged Vapor Management Valve (VMV)
CV circuit open or shorted to Vpwr
Damaged CV (canister Vent) solenoid

If you have taken a good shunt it's probably a damaged pipe somewhere in the Evaporative system.

Thanks

The car drives and runs 'normal' and the gas tank is on and tight. No smell of gas.
It was hit pretty hard but not too hard.
Unfortunately with -2 degree weather here in Boston and no garage think I'll have to give this to a pro. But I still don't have a good mechanic and the Dealers? They're just aggravating, irritating and way too expensive.
