I have replaced the exhaust from the first set of bolt flanges back with 2 1/2" straight exhaust. However, I am in the market to put some mufflers on it, since crusing around town it resonates so much inside the vehicle. If it wasn't for that, I'd leave it straight!

Will mufflers that use 2 1/2" inlet/outlets work on this vehicle!? I was thinking of using the SpinTek mufflers, since we get a deal with them through work.

Obviously, it's not going to be the exhaust that I would ask for for an original `88 LSC. At this point, am I using mustang mufflers, or what do I need to order, if this will even work...

well, are you saying that you now have 2 1/2 piping all the way to the tail? the main issue with 2 1/2 is in executing the bend over the axle...any offset mufflers that aren't too long should be fine

Yes. 2 1/2" from the flange just behind the cats, to all the way up and over the rear end. Plus, I have the spring conversion kit, which seemed to have lowered the LSC about 1 - 1.5" as well.

The Spinteks are about the same size overall as the Flowmaster 40's.
