I did a search on this "tweecer" I'm really green with computers as I just started using them a year ago....my children help me most of the time, the only thing I use it for is to go on this site or FvsC......reason is I think you have to use a laptop for the tweecer, which I dont have but I can borrow one when needed....I'd like to know how often would you use the laptop? do you have to have it in the car at all times? also is this tweecer a good "next step" for improving my Mark? ***I can learn*** I'm really sorry if this all sounds stupid.....Sinc. If you don't ask, you don't learn. smile.gif
pro's probably well-versed in the tweecer info - look for him to check in tomorrow.

Thanx for the site, now I'm curious about the "5" diff. settings you can have, do you switch between them with the laptop or is switch of some sort that you can install that you could just say, turn a knob while your driving?...also would this be a good next step for my car? all your opinions are welcome.....Thanx Villain

Since I'm the twEECer proponent,I better start talking. smile.gif
The 5 settings are something you can program and adjust from the glove compartment via a dial. The laptop is only needed to upload/download the information to/from the engine computer, same why your computer uploads/downloads information from Lincolnsonline.com. smile.gif
All you do is plug the Lincoln computer to the twEECer, then get a computer with a USB port. If you don't have access to a laptop, you could drag your computer out to the garage with an extension cord and/or have a REAL long USB connector.
Ask your kids if they have a computer with a USB. A laptop is obviously ideal, but if you really want to keep your stock cruise control with your modified engine, the twEECer is the way to go no matter what computer you have access to.
Course you need a heavily modified motor to justify the twEECer, injectors/heads/cam/blower and the like.

hey!
Saw your comment about keeping stock computer cruise w/a mod'd motor -
I've conv to MA for my 351, tried wiring in
the SD ecu for cruise, just CAN'T get it to work.
The cruise worked fine before, I've checked the pinouts several times to make sure they're right, checked the solenoid action in the controller they're fine, and checked & have continuity thru all the circuits & switches per my oem shop manual, all seems well, still no cruise!
Any ideas?
Or did you mean you tune the stock sd ecu?

Pro...thanx for the reply,...So since I just have the minor bolt-ons and 3.73 gears this would not be a wise step, also I still have speed density,.....It definatly sounds very cool to have....Thanx Villain

Yeah, you need "more" motor to really justify the cost of a twEECer.
Macx, the twEECer works with the stock speed density Mark VII ECU...basically working all the A/F and timing curves without messing with the pin outs. In theory, you can also change the ECU's injector size calibration so a tripminder would read correctly with bigger injectors.
I was planning on doing this to say I did it myself, even bought the twEECer, but the car was sold before I installed it. :(

GET THE TWEECER. I have great success with it on my LSC, on my TT Stang, and my friend just bought one for this 88 Turbocoupe. I love it. Basically it's as good if not better than all of the OTHER engine tuning utils out there.
