Finally completed the TC front swaybar and addco 415U rear bar installation. I also have installed Energy Suspension front poly components and PST graphite poly on the rear. What a major difference! The car is scary to drive because I am driving so much faster through corners. I really encourage anyone to do the swap. After replacing the bushings with poly, I would think twice about doing it. Although it helps performance, it really deteriorates the smoothness and quietness of the Lincoln ride. Reminds me of a Mustang thats been dropped 2".

Huh, and I was just thinking how much nicer my Mustang with coilovers and subframe connecters, bigger swaybars, etc was riding than my Mark VII. :D

Well, that's cheating because coilovers seem to really help improve ride, but they're still coil springs!

Polyurethane anti-roll bar and endlink bushings don't make much of a ride difference, but I suspect the control arm bushings would. A nicer balance could be achieved with harder rubber bushings, but I don't know if any exist for the front. For the rear, Ford used a higher durometer bushing in their control arms for police Mustangs. These bushings are in all the replacement Mustang control arms they sell now supposedly.

Some tuners are for poly bushings in the back, but some are against it because bind may exist with their use in the simplistic 4 link design. Of note, Maximum Motorsports is against their use. If you really want to control excess movement in the back, a panhard bar or a new suspension design is really the way to go. I myself noticed rub marks on my tail pipes from the rear tires after some autocrossing.

Ben, I could see coilovers aiding ride. It would seem to me that friction would be reduced slightly and the force from impacts would be better directed and controlled. I think you lose some efficiency and effectiveness when your spring is separate from your damper. It looks like there would be two different arcs for the parts as they compressed.

Poly stuff certainly is stiffer than rubber. You tend to sacrifice a bit of quietness for reduced play in the suspension. I also agree with Nick's statement that the poly endlink and sway bar bushings have a whole lot less effect on the straight line cruise than the control arm bushings do.

You get the high durometer rubber bushings when you buy the FMS M3075D control arms. These are also the '03 Cobra arms...they bolt right up. Same length as our arms, new ball joints, can accept SN95 brakes OR use MaxMotorsports SVO bushings to bolt to our stock calipers.

Only for those with coil springs (like me).

Added benefit: 10% better turning radius !

For a minute there I thought you were talking about rear ca's from a 03 cobra.....I was like "you are off your rocker"

But yes, this info is correct. But, I am unsure if the swaybar mount is in the right spot,.
