I have an owner's manual from a 1976 Conti that describes an optional "dash-adjustable air suspension system". This is not air-adjustable shocks...those were also listed as available but a distinctly different option. I did not know that a true air suspension system with air springs was available on Lincolns then. It was listed with the heavy-duty trailer towing package as an option. Anyone here ever see or have this early "dash-adjustable" air suspension system on their '76-era Continental? Thanks...-Rusty :D

it was probably an air shocks option with on-board compressor...to allow the driver to manually compensate for rear loading

No, the manual mentioned true "air springs" instead of "air shocks". It also mentioned the air shocks themselves as a totally different option...am I ever curious about what that system and option package had back in 1976.... -Rusty
