Can anybody tell me the exact backspacing on the 16" BBS-looking rims?( 90LSC), and also the backspacing on the look-alike rims used on the 'Panther ' chassis vehicles? I hear they are not the same.

My thinking is this: If the 'Panther' wheels have less backspace, then I could get a set of those widened, which adds backspace. It may put them at the 8" width, same as a set of origianl GTC rims? Any ideas or opinions on this?

Kit, I think the LSC wheels are 25mm or 26mm. I probably posted the specs in my LSC wheel thread on FvC. I'd search for it. There was something about the Panther wheel that was a bit off for fit. I think it sticks out farther. The design also changed from the more intricate LSC wheel. Some Panther wheels will also lack a polished lip. www.weldcraftwheels.com (http://www.weldcraftwheels.com) is the place to go for wheel widening.

The LSC wheels have 5.95 inch backspacing. I have no clue what the Panther wheels are.

More opinions on widening stock wheels...
I have been VERY seriously considering having some stock wheels widened. BUT, after thinking about it, I feel that it is just not worth it.
The shops that can do this work will charge around $200, probably more.

Wider than 235 16 inch tires are becoming hard to find
17 inch tires are getting cheaper
17 inch painted Cobra Rs can be found for $150, polished just a little more, chrome just a little more.

It seems to me that it is just not worth it to spend the cash on the stockers.

Yeah, I understand the fact that it is less expensive overall to just 'upgrade' to diffent wheels, but I really want to keep the stock BBS-style wheel, and there are NONE currently availible from anyone in any size.
I found a place that will widen and chrome the wheels for $200 each. That is do-able to me.

Are't the Panther wheels the "other" (metric) pattern ??

6" backspace on a 7" wheel doesn't sound right....Do you mean 4.95"?

Kit, check your e-mail. I might have a 3rd option.
