On the way home last night I was lucky enough to see my first batch of Mark LTs on a truck headed for some Lincoln dealer west of Houston.
Blech...since it offers nothing better (except a warranty and 1 year free oil changes) than an F150 Lariat and LOOKS just like an F150, I just can't get into liking that turd.
At least the original Navigator had a completely different body than the Expedition (except the doors)...I'm trying to figure out why ANYONE would want a Mark LT over a Navigator. I don't get it!

Saw it at the auto show. It blows goat. The whole Lincoln area sucked as it was. The only moderately cool part was the old 30's Zephyr they brought to show off the new Zephyr, which really looks plain in person.

Thats the worst part of that thing. Though the seat covers do remind a Lincoholic of a Mark II, they couldn't even put a leather and wood wheel like a Navigator? Tu-tone leather instead? I know they want to make this thing on the cheap, but that is a total cop out. Lincoln deserves better.
They deserve a properly marketed Blackwood. :(

Yeah, instead of spending the money and time to come up with a fresh idea for Lincoln's newest entry into the market, Ford just trots out a tired old, tarted-up F-series revamp and hopes the consumer will be stupid and vapid enough to spend scads of money on something that didn't cost them hardly a nickel. Wow, is it the mid-seventies again already?
Ford publically claims that the market left 'Lincoln', and that there isn't enough interest in domestic-level luxury products to warrant that kind of expenditure.
I say "Bullshit!" The 'market' didn't leave Lincoln...Lincoln left the market. Boring, outdated, warmed-up left-over product that excites no-one. Lincoln all but abandoned thier own market, and Ford seems to care not a wit, for the budget at Lincoln is obviously virtually non-existent right now.
Lincoln's self-immolation at the hands of the bean-counters at Ford should surprise no one at Ford, but they act betrayed by the 'market'? I think they are all out of thier F'n minds!
The Mustang, new F-series, new Explorer, 500, so on...are all contenders, but they had to have the budget to achieve these things, right?
How is Lincoln division expected to stay competitive?
The handwriting is on the wall, for sure.

I think all our woes over Lincoln getting short-changed can be traced back to Ford's big mistake...Jaguar.
And the man so willing to squander all of Ford's profits from Ford cars (Town Car, Taurus, Explorer, etc) to do it...Jacques Nasser.
I will say that owning Volvo has been nothing but good. One drive in a new S60 told me that this was a great car company. And they made the Freestyle/500/Montego a nice foundation to make such a passionless car. smile.gif
But none of this changes the fact that the Mark LT is lame and that Germans love David Hasselhoff! (Norm McDonald reference had to be thrown in here)

No, but if I ever wanted to make monthly payments for a car, that car is REAL high on the list. Even being FWD, the S60 T5 pushed all my buttons. That new AWD S60-R must be real nice.

Saw the LT at the Baltimore Auto Show.
If you want a "different" F150 that no one else has, that's your truck! ;)

It may be easier to just put a lot of cash in the bed of a nice F-150 and get teh same thing for your money, IMO.
