2000 lincoln ls with 95,000 miles. Check engine light is on and after driving and stopping at redlight or drive thru it dies. Has always started right back up. In the morning at first start to warm up car it never dies. Any ideas?

jtsbaker,
Invest in an OBD-II code scanner & pull the engine codes. It should show you exactly what's wrong and/or what to look at & replace. If you don't want to invest in a code scanner, take the car to an AutoZone and they'll do the scan for free.

we have taken it to autozone and it says bank 1 and 2 are running lean. We have replaced the fuel filter and mass air??? can't remember but my husband knows. Any ideas?

That usually indicates O2 sensors or maybe the EGR valve. What specific codes were given? quote:Originally posted by jtsbaker:

check the Vac lines if it is a V6 I will bet you 10 dollars to a doughnut that it is the elbow as previously mentioned by doc. I just did the job myself. I was ready to pull my hair out trying to find the leak.

You can try cleaning the MAF and checking vacuum lines first as they are low cost but I am almost 100 % certain you can rule everything out but the pcv and the elbow.
