occasional overheat

Once in a great while the LS will spike the coolant temp and reduce engine power. The car is not actually overheated. If I turn the car of and restart it, the temp goes back to normal, power reduction goes away. Sometimes I have to restart a couple of times. The dealer tells me it could be the thermostat sticking due to a poor design. Is this a know issue?

Wasn't the thermostat. Somehow an air pocket go into the system. I had the lincoln dealer 'burp' the system. Problem has not reappeared.
