I picked up a 2000 Lincoln LS over the weekend. It has the 3.9 V8 in it. I've always loved these cars, but have just gotten the chance to get into a used one.
I don't know that much about the vehicles, that's one reason why I'm here, to learn.
I was wondering how I could tell if it had the advancetrac or the automatic tranny that could be manually shifted.
Sorry for my lack of knowledge about the cars, but I'm ready and willing to learn as much as possible.
The car has 72,000 miles, if anyone can help me or has any advice, feel free to tell me.

Thanks

Let me be the first to say Welcome to LoL. You will find a stack of useful info. here for both your car and other cars as well in case you're interested. The LS's are really nice cars. Definitely one of Lincoln's noteable newer cars. There are many members here who know the LS inside out and will be pleased to offer any assistance you may need in the future smile.gif

Chris,
Welcome! I have owned my 2000 V8 sport for 5 years now. As you get some more behind the wheel time, I believe you will be even more pleased with your LS. The AdvanceTrac system is controlled on/off by a buttom on the center consol labeled ATS. There's a light in the buttom above the word off. Then it's lit the system is off. If you have the button, you've got AdvanceTrac. If you have the Select Shift Transmission, there will be another slot to the right for your shifter with a plus and minus (gear up/down) I personally don't use it all that much. Shifting is not the same as a manual. I think it has a lot of value when you want to stay in the same gear...3rd let's say, and be able to stay in the upper rpms where the power is. This can be fun. Well, I believe I've answered your questions correctly. I welcome any corrections so you are educated correctly on you LS and so I may learn as well.
