I know www.tirerack.com (http://www.tirerack.com) has brake upgrades available. I'm not sure what is available for low cost though.

I buy my parts thru:
www.rockauto.com (http://www.rockauto.com)
As for rotor rust, it's often a function of pad compound, car use and storage. The specific metallurgy associated with each rotor varies unpredictably. I bought Bendix that never rusted while other Bendix rusted under the pad to the point of hard thumping and needed replaced. I bought $15 Chinese generic rotors that wore like iron and never rusted. Other's did.
Rust characteristics are not consistent between batches, let alone manufacturers. This is why GM and other's were forced to recall vehicles due to excessive rotor rust. There is no good way to predict rust. Rotors cost about $50 each. Just buy cheap one's and cross your fingers.

Anyone have any opinions on the rotors and brake pads from NAPA Auto parts. What are the best rotors and pads for the money.
Thanks

I've been very pleased with Bendix rotors and pads. I've replaced all the rotors on our Mark VII about 40k ago and have had no problems.
Not sure who Napa uses as their vendor for brake parts, has to be better than Autozone's supplier though.

NAPA sells the same stuff Rockauto does at 4x price. All they do is rebox generic crap and provide a warranty.

Some of the ones on E bay have a coating of some kind to stop the rust I can't remember what it is though

ntec,
that coating is zinc plating. it helps to prevent rust. i bought my cross drilled/slotted rotors from ebay member ccrotorwork. I've had them on for a couple of months and they are doing just fine.

like Ken - I am running CC RotorWorks - drilled and slotted. I installed a set of Porterfield Racing Pads (R4-S High Performance Street and Autocross) dustless - $129 - and love both.

I as well purchased a set off eBay from ccrotorwork for about $180 shipped-front/rear cross drilled and slotted-Braking now has a much more solid feel,I'm just running raybestos quiet stops for the pads-Zinc plated to prevent/reduce rust (Severe rust problem from my old stock rotors)Very happy thus far,and would recommend this Company.
