This is the continuing saga of my recently acquired 1986 MKVII's troubles with staying running when started.
Acting on the advice of frineds, I checked and adjusted the TPS and it now reads .94 with key on, engine off. After sitting overnight, it will start quickly, and run verysmoothly, AGAIN for a few seconds. After that, it will start but not stay running. I have just replaced the IAS sensor onthe front side of the TB; no affect on this problem. Question: with a TFI module gone bad create this same problem? I always thought the TFI would fail after heated when bad. Surely this cannot be haeated only after a few seconds from it sitting over night in the cool night air. What gives with this beautiful car?
