I read somewhere that 5.0 engine is good for 500000 miles is this true

Why did you post this on the LS forum. This is the only section that is not about 5.0L's.
My 5.0L LSC has 235K miles and after changing the head gasket, I can tell you the cylinders have no ridges and the original hone marks. If you run synthetic oil and change it every 10K, the chassis will die before the motor.
