Anyone out there have a good winter setup? Is it possible to get a set of snow tires and wheels for less than 500 bucks a corner? Is anyone running 16 inch rims on a LS8 Sport? I really don't want to run fat snow tires on 17 inch wheels, but if that is the only alternative....... How about specific tires? I had Blizzak MZ02's on my last car and they were magic in the ice, but there is a big difference between a MR2 and a LS8. I am in southern CT and mount the snowies for 2 months max.

Well Kilo, I'm hoping that I have a great winter setup. I had two winters on my 17 inch Firestones before I made some changes.

I swapped to an 18 inch tire this summer. I picked up some 16 inch rim, which will be shod with Blizzaks this winter. The 16 inch size is somewhat more inexpensive than attempting to find 18 inch snows.

Tire Rack has (finally) released a package for the LS. $764.00 for two wheels and tires for the rear axle.

I also noticed that Blizzaks are finally available in 17 inch sizes now. Have fun.

I just called Tire Rack and they have a 4 wheel deal for the LS, LS8 Sport included. 4 "take off" aluminum wheels (they said that these are the stock wheels that we now have) in 16 inch size and 4 Blizzak WS50's 215 16 size tires Q rated. $890.... ask for Josh ext 394. Actually ask for anyone you want, but he did take the time to explain this to me. I hear these tires are great in the snow and ice, but are very soft and care should be taken in dry conditions if you want them to last.
