What is the largest tires you can fit on the 17" LS wheels. I have the stock tires on there now 235/50/17 Michelin Pilot HX MXM4. Thinking about going with a 245/50/17 for a little more agressive look. Curious if there is enough room on the inner fender or if there would have a rubbing problem on full turn in.

The tires you're lookin' at will be about 1/2" taller than stock, which may creat rubbing issues if the car is lowered any.

car is not lowered. I am not changing the height of tire it's still going to be a 50 series tire it's just going to be 10 mm wider (235 to a 245)

If I did the math right, that will make your tires about 5mm taller. Might mess up your speedo just a little bit.
Remember that 50 in "50 series" means it takes 50% of the tire width to calculate tire height. 245s will be a little taller.

Yea I guess your right, it's all aspect ratio so I guess it might be a little taller. I am not too concerned about the speedo being off, but my main concern would be rubbing or interference with the exhaust (back tires) or the suspension components

Considering how high all modern Fords sit these days, I seriously doubt that will be a problem smile.gif

I was referring to ride height, not body height. ;) But everythings gotta be taller these days, for sure...
Its gonna be a sad day when the 500 chassis replaces the hunky, broad fendered LS in a few years.

Why would you want a taller tire? Remember that a taller tire will have a similar effect on performance as adding taller gears, like going from 3.27's to 3.08's. Not desireable from a performance standpoint.
So why go to a taller tire?

I run 245/45 ZR17 Bridgestone Potenza RE750, and my car is lowered about 2" - no problems.
This is a cool web-site for comparisions: http://www.1010tires.com/tiresizecalculator.asp

I am on my second set of Kumho 245/45/17 and have enjoyed both sets all the way to the end of their demise.

Are you using the 711's, MX's, ASX's, or the Supra 712's in that tire size?
