Horsepower Difference in the LS V8

What did Lincoln do to the 2003 to present year LS V8's to get the 28 more horsepower over the 2000 to 2002 LS V8's? I have asked the dealer and the mechanics. No one knows for sure whwt the difference is. I have my own threories, but to know for sure.
