I've been an admirer of these cars for sometime now. I started out wanting a BMW 7 series, but that was too expensive. I then looked at the 5-series and just didn't care for them. When I took a serious look at the Lincoln LS I knew that I'd found the car I was looking for.

The LS is just as nice as any other Luxury Sedan. The V8 is absolutely awesome! I purchased a V-6 given the initial price, fuel costs, and my propensity to drive too fast! I have a hard time keeping the V6 in check. I would be in a lot of trouble if I'd bought the V8!

Congrats on your new LS! You're really going to love it. It's a car that will always look good no matter how old it is.

Also, welcome to Lincolnsonline.com!

I bought my V6 in Feb. of 2000. I could have ordered a V8, too, but really didn't due to the same reasons that you listed.

The V6 has ample power when empty and struggles a bit when loaded down full with people/luggage, but still gets the job done in style!

Good luck with yours.

What year and color did you choose?

I have an 01 that is Midnight Grey Metallic. I have really been enjoying it. Mine also has the rear end with the 3.58 ratio, so it does really well performance-wise. Here in Madison, MS (just north of Jackson) we are having a terrible time finding gas, so I'm VERY glad I got the V6.

Katrina did mostly minor damage here, trees down on houses and power lines mostly. But the fuel situation is SCARY. I can't go to work Tuesday unless I find a station with some gas over the weekend.
