My car feels cold all the time. You could have it at 80 degress and cold air is coming out. It takes about 45 minutes to warm up. It sits in a garage all night. If it was not for the heated seats no one would ride with me in the cold Michigan winters.

As I have never been in an LS before I am going from what I know about the Towncars and Mark VIII's. It doesn't matter if you turn the heat all the way up if it is on automatic because it won't come on until the engine is up to temp so you don't have cold air blowing on you. Now why the engine doesn't heat up as quick as it should, are you sure the correct thermostat is installed? If you have the wrong thermostat that opens too soon or may be stuck open, they can both cause the engine to get and stay cooler than it should and take forever to get up to temp. Heater doesn't work, worse gas mileage, and thinking nobody likes you because your car is too cold are the main downsides to this. I would replace it with the correct temp. one and see how it goes. Yes, I'd try a new 195º thermostat first. Another way to get really fast warm-ups is to install a plug-in engine heater that keeps the coolant lukewarm all night. Antifreeze mixture that's much over 50/50 (-34º F) also takes longer to warm up.

I had the same problem with my 2000 LS Mine was due to a small coolant leak which was causing a flow problem so My heater wasn't working at all. my dealership finaly fixed the problem after three trips to the dealership but now it works fine the leak was very small so you might want to get your coolant system pressure tested....
