Recently when I turn my steering wheel to the right it makes this extremly loud squeaking noise but only when I turn right just wondering if this might be a belt issue or if somethng needs to be lubricated...the noise started after a big rain storm out here and I had to drive through some deep water

I have the same problem. I'm very interested to hear suggestions.

If you got the belt wet and that happened, that could very well do it. Its probably the problem and is cheap and easy enough to replace...

Odds are the belt is original on your car (6 years old?) and you should replace it anyway. I really like the Goodyear Gatorback belts, available at Autozone. Should be about $30.

My problem does not involve wet belts, but it definitely only occurs when turning to the right. No noise when turning left.

BTW: I'm on the wrong forum. My vehicle is a 1996 Lincoln Cont. I ended up here after searching the forum for "pwr steering turn right".

Just post in the 95-02 Conti forum with this question, hopefully someone there will have a good answer for ya.
