Saw a black 2006 Lincoln Mark LT truck at the Dallas Auto Show on Saturday. Nice interior with typical Navigator styling queues. They claim sales will begin in early 2005.

The front end is OK, but I think the Navigator is a better looker. ;) This must be one heavy truck. The F150 is no tinkerbell. I hope they went with more aluminum bits.

The Versailles was more of a Lincoln than the Mark LT. Why this truck doesn't have a more Navigator-ish front end is beyond me.

RJ, did it have the same interior as the Navi or as the F150???

I still like it, from what I've seen in pictures however. smile.gif

They are going to much in the way of GM with Caddy and Chevy. Take the nose off of one and it bolts up to the other. with Lincoln and Ford, there was a difference between them. It could be done but was much more difficult than with the GM competition. Now slap a chrome grille on an F-150 and you now have a Lincoln. I don't like it a bit. The Blackwood was a wonderful vehicle, this is just another truck.

Amen. The sad thing is, I bet this one will sell because it is more of a truck and the average buyer doesn't care as much that it isn't as much of a Lincoln. How did the Caddy get preferance over the Blackwood for pimp trucks? The Lincoln has so much more stock...

I don't know, the front end really bugs me for some reason. I mean, Ford went out of their way to make the new F150 a box, and now Lincoln is rounding out the front end to spite the rest of the square body panels.

Guess I'll have to see one up close.

By the way, is there a great big Lincoln emblem on the tailgate to replace the blue oval? tongue.gif

:D

The interior is different and could be considered higher end. They do have Lincoln logos throughout.

Lincoln's website has some nice pics of it. I still wish they used the Navi's interior, since it doesn't look like a Ford.

I don't know about this. There's nothing innovative about it. It's just got some better materials and a different name (a lame one at that). I don't see this appearing in rap videos anytime soon. I like the wheels though.

All it needs are some dubs and a super-dee-duper chasis scraping drop to make it into a rap video.

I mean, look at all that GM sh*t from the 70's and 80's they use in those stupid videos!

The Mark will never be in a Rap video unless Lincoln gives one to 50 Cent...like Chrysler did with the 300.

Caddies and Chevys rule the rap video scene. Doesn't seem to stop Lincoln SUVs from selling, though.

Pro man, you sayin' that the Lincoln ain't got tha bling bling to be in no f*ckin' rap vid man?!? That what you sayin'?!?

Damn man, where's the luv yo'?

For some reason, GM (not directly) owns the media outlets that cater to the hip-hop crowd.

If ya don't believe me, even look at the last Austin Powers movie. He drives a Eldorado, even though the 70s movies they were copying (black-plotiation) had the guys driving custom Continentals and Marks.

Rap videos and Austin Powers prove it: the game stays the same, ain't a damn thang changed. (I dont know what that means)

GM can keep their rap thing. Bling free is the way to be. :D (Nothing personal against those who like it, but this rhymed nicely.)

Bingo. More proof that Lincolns are behind the scenes and Caddys get all the attention.

Then again, I almost like it that way. Caddys have always had overdone styling compared to Lincolns. The Mark LT is no exception, it is WAY better in the styling department than the tupperware-clad Escalade EXT.

All the new Caddys got beat with an ugly stick. The Escalade and EXT just happen to have had the ugly tree fall on them. tongue.gif I don't understand how Davis E. Davis can love his EXT and call it the best American made luxury vehicle when he raved about his Mark VII LSC way back when.

You're kidding me, right?

Another reason to continue to avoid reading Motor Trend. Sheesh.

I love the back of this car. But for some reason I am afraid that it’s gonna be like the Blackwood. This is basically F-150 a little modified. I kidna like that there are no Lincolns in the Rap Videos, it tells you that only civilized people own and drive Lincolns. Let the Cadillac have a reputation of a drug dealer car.

I don't think it will be like the Blackwood. The truck wasn't a mechanical dud, it only lacked sales appeal because it wasn't practical for its price. Some of those features should have been options and 4WD should definitely have been an option. Americans love their trucks, but most aren't shallow enough to buy them just to have. They expect some practicality from them. Even the Porsche SUV and Mercedes G Class are practical, if expensive.

I really don't think I'll see one of these with 45 bales of alfalfa in the back...

Actually the more i look at it the more it grows on me. I think they are going to refine the vehicle a bit when they bring it out. I LOVE WOODGRAIN, LOL. Mabie a navi grille but other than that as long as it is not in the 60k range it will sell. If you think about it, that may be why the didnt re-engineer it too much, there is not that much cost to make up for. Mabie it will go for 40k right after the lariat f150.

I hate in the back how they just extend the taillamps with reflectors onto the tailgate. It is the only thing that makes it different than the ford f-150. They do this on the Navigator and Aviator and it annoys me.

I like what megaforcer said in his post about letting the caddy people be known for drug dealer cars. :D

Why drag down the Mark name with a dressed-up F150?

My complaint was the Blackwood road as rough as my Excursion on the F-250 frame. I know a truck is not going to ride like the TownCar, but they really missed the "mark" on that one.
I would consider this as a replacement for my Company truck if only to leave the Navigator at home, that is if it is as nice as my Gator inside and ride quality.
I am not as wild about the frontend, I feel it's a bit to much flash with the chrome grill, but then again it is a Lincoln.....

You probably won't win, but Lincoln sends you a real cool brochure and an (overly optimistic letter) on pre-ordering the new Lincoln beast. smile.gif

I wouldn't toss it out of bed for eating crackers.

But I don't know if I'd spend more than $40 G's on it either.

Im a OTR trucker and when i was fueling up my Rig a car carrier pulled in next to me filled with 7 MArk LTs. They are awesome lookin yeah its a dressed up F150 but jsut remeber the navigator is a dressed up Expedition and the escalade is a dressed up yukon and the EXT is a dressed up avalanche. its jsut a way to hopefully make the truck cheap so it obtainable, as far as the MARK name im confused that doesnt make sence at all. Marks have alway been cars I think the look is good but the name is Wrong.

Guy at work had this old clipping from an old car (unknown) mag.

Still don't anticipate a Mark LT parked in my drive, hell that's why I bought an F-250 XL, rubber floor mats I can hose out. When I drive a truck it's because it's being used as a truck instead of some ego booster.
