Just like the LS, Continental and (probably) Town Car...the Aviator is going wrong wheel drive soon. :(

Oh, and they are finally killing the Excursion. And Toyota gets away with all their gas guzzling SUVs just because they make more 4cyl cars and a Hybrid. What a damn shame, and its not exactly Ford's fault this time. :(

I thought the diesel Excursion was a giant leap in economy over even the smaller Expy's, no contest from GM at all. Hrm, oh well.

Sad to see the Aviator go though.

The big thing around here is that mini station wagon style that every company has out now, like the Dodge Magnum.

(confession time) I am looking at a Magnum or a 300c very hard these days.

I've never understood the SUV craze, but I'm hoping Ford will replace these with some cool cars like the Magnum or 300C.

WTF is going on? Are we all supposed to drive FWD cars now, or what?

The Dodge/Chrysler products I am looking at are rear wheel drive and AWD built on a rear wheel drive platform

That's right... forgot the Magnum/300 frame is RWD.

In a coupla years all Caddies will be RWD. What a twist of events!

It is kind of funny how FWD was marketed as such an advancement back in the day and now RWD is making a comeback. The carmakers keep making engines more powerful, and I think they reached the limit of what they can do with a high horsepower motor in a FWD car.

I just hope Chrysler and Cadillac don't leave Ford in the dust. Bring back the Cougar!

whats up with you guys, why the heck whould you ever want to buy a Dodge/Chrysler product...well, unless you like being stranded on the side of the road cuz your Tranny blows....

Anyway, i'm all for the new MustangGT....a true RWD vehicle....and if Caddies go rear and lincoln keeps making more "wrong wheel drive" vehicles i may have to make the dreaded switch...

Get this. Pontiac is coming out with a Pontiac Grand Prix GXP with a 5.3 V8 and it's FWD!! That's wrong on so many levels my gentials have receeded back into my body much like a dog.

Strange enough I just happen to have two minivans in my collection that have done right by me. I have a '92 Caravan AWD ES and a '96 Town&Country LXI.
I have no plans on getting rid if the Caravan unless I find another AWD and I am still looking at a full size Ford, but not looking very hard.

Silver - aren't all Pontiacs FWD except for the F bodies? Except that they don't make them anymore...

Aztek has optional AWD, but it's on its deathbed.

FWD is fine if you don't want a V8 or don't drive the car to 9/10s all the time. It's good for someone who sees a car as transportation only...ie your Accord, Camry, or Taurus buyer.

The replacement Aviator is fugly. The hood ornament is a tack on joke. Damn poseurs and their car based SUVs.

Yes. However mounting an LS1 derived V8 sideways into a Pontiac Grand Prix is mind blowing stupidity. The Bonny GXP was allright because it was only a 4.6 Northstar but this is way out of hand. There is only ONE FWD muscle car.

Edit: Stupid cardomain  . It's a Toronado
