Every time I go to turn off my car the key will not come out the ignition. So I have turn it back to the on (ACC I think) position and wait up to a 1.5 min then when I turn it back I can get it out. People have told me that its my transmission, I was thinking that it might be my air system that has been recently repaired..has anyone else had this problem or can someone suggest a remedy...

I you have an older Mark VIII it may just be a worn ignition assembly. Also try turning the wheel slightly to one side to see if it makes it easier to remove. The air suspension is so far removed from from the ignition I can't think of ANYTHING it could do to capture the key. Maybe they just screwed up something else.....

It's a worn ignition lock cylinder I just had the same problem with my 93 Mark, I replaced the cylinder it works fine now.

Inspect the bezel(outer plastic ring) . Is it turning seperate from the ignition key switch. It's not suppose to. I have a 1995 continental that does it. The problem was the bezel. I haven't changed it. Minor inconvenience is all.
