I have experienced engine stall while making turns after de-excelarating. The problem is intermitant, having happened 4 times over the past 3 months. While turning, the engine quits. It will re-crank and seems to do fine. Any ideas?

There has been plenty of gas in the tank and the turns were fairly sharp but at a slow rate of speed. Suggestions have been the fuel filter. Will try changing it but it happens so seldom, it will be hard to tell if it helps. I thought maybe this was a common problem that someone had already figued out. No such luck.

Forgot to mention, it is a 1998 Mark VIII. I have had it since fall 2000. Use it for road trips and local driving. Trouble started abuot 4 months ago.

If you are turning real sharp, it might be a defective fuel pump shut off switch that freaks out too often. This device is made to keep your car from becoming a "Pinto" if someone rear ends you. Look in your owners manual for it.
I bet that switch is interchangable with older Fords (1980-current models with Fuel injection) so you might wanna swap it out with another Ford and try the turns again.
