Alright, my rear speakers don't work, and I think I might know why. They're still hooked up to the factory wiring and seem to be in good condition, so I think the amplifier either doesn't work or has been removed  ! The problem is, I don't know where it's at - I've only had the car about a week and a half and my manual hasn't come in the mail yet.
Anybody know where I can find the factory amp?

Actually, I just found it in the tray in my trunk, but I can't figure out how to pull the tray down/out.

If I remember correctly, the tray is attached to the metal parcel shelf by plastic push pins of some sort.

You have to remove the backseat and slide your hand underneath the carpet on the parcel shelf (it doesn't come out easily) and see where the tray attaches to the shelf.

Okay, I pulled the amp out and now I think I might know the problem - one of the connectors is missing. Am I right, or is this slot supposed to be unconnected?
I couldn't get a picture up, so I'll explain - looking at the amp with the connectors facing you, there are two larger ones on the outsides and two smaller connectors on the inside. The middle-right connector slot is empty (third from the left).

Re: the service manual. There's a CD available on eBay, if your into that sort of PC thing. I love mine !!
Here's the link to 1998 models:

Actually, I did get the CD, and that's how I figured out the problem. Some bone-head ran additional speakers/subs (don't know which, only that the wires were spliced) off of the rear channels. I doubt it took very long to blow out the amp after that. Guess it's time to start looking for a 4-channel aftermarket one.

Thanks for all your help, but the problem was the connector on the amp came loose.
