All right, try to figure this out.
The wipers for my 95 Mark VIII decided the other day that they will NOT shut off/park. What is ironic is that my T-Bird (with 169000 miles) started the same thing about a week ago. In the T-Bird I can hear a buzz coming from the fuse panel when I shut them off, the Lincoln is dead quiet. What is it with Ford products that do this? The T-Bird is actually on its second wiper motor. Is this a easy fix on the Lincoln? I am not too concerned with the T-Bird as it is now just a winter beater but might there be a common problem between the two? Some relay for the intervals as I think it might have something to do with the interval.

if they are parking straight up, which is a common problem on the marks, it's most likely the arm on the top of the motor. I don't think the parking function is a feature the thunderbird has. If you replace the motor with a unit from murrays or another discount auto parts store, the arm should be included. If you buy the much more expensive unit from the dealer, the arm may not be included. good luck.

The problem just got a little more serious. They did not get stopped in an upright position they would not park, they would start but get jammed before they moved. Now they don't work at all anymore. I ordered a reman. from autoparts.com and we'll see when they come in.
I have no service manual so could anyone give me a general idea of how to change them out? Anyone with a diagram on their computer you could post?

it's a ***** , to tell you the truth. Take your time and don't get pissed like i did, or you'll break the plastic that holds the motor and have to invest more time trying to fix it without buying a new one (which you don't want to do).
You have to take off the wipers (easy, just lift the arm and pry out the little tab, gently, and it'll pop right off), the plastic cover under the wipers, and then you can see the top of the wiper motor. Take off all the bolts that hold on the plastic thing it's mounted too, and somehow wriggle it out (the tough part). the motor unbolts from the plastic piece easily enough. reverse the steps to install.
you might be able to get the motor off the plastic piece without completely removing the plastic piece, which may be easier.
I might have omitted a step somewhere (going from memory), but once you get into it it'll become clear enough what you have to do. Good luck.

Changed the motor out this weekend. It was a breeze once I figured out how to take the wiper arms off. That was the easiest part too. Thanks for all the help.
