mark vs cobra

I have a question. Whats the difference between the 280 or 290 horse mark engines and the 305 horse mustang cobra engine. If any one knows please help.

The Cobra has a different program in the EEC, forged crankshaft & rods, different cam profiles, different intake & exhaust, deeper oilpan, more powerful alternator and probably several other things.

Even the Cobra block and heads differ. Almost nothing is the same.

What ?? The block and heads are the EXACT same part number ????? The ONLY dofferences are the forged steel crank, intake and exhaust cams. Thats It !
