Since a few weeks ago, when I'm at a stop light and I hit the gas in my car, it will either stumble or sometimes die. I've replaced the fuel filter, air filter, plugs, changed oil and tranny fluid, and TPS trying to fix it, and it helped, but it still stumbles. I ran all the engine codes and came up with nothing.

I think the problem might be the IAC, that the computer is having a hard time changing from idle to open throttle. I'm not sure, though, and I have no clue whatsoever how to get that off - seems like I'd have to take the intake off! Also, when I go to the auto parts store to look for the part, they come up with two numbers (same with the TPS). Why would that be, I wonder?

I tried to change the IAC on my 1993 and yes, it is a bear. Don't bother cleaning it, just replace the damn thing.

Its near the firewall and you can fit an open ended wrench on it. You can turn the bolt about an 1/8th of a turn each time before you have to reposition the wrench.

I gave up, took the car to my trusty mechanic and he replaced it...charged me 2 hours of labor for it! Then again, his wrenching saved the "A" I had going into my management test! smile.gif

Inspect your EGR valve and Sensor. They can be bad and will show the same symptoms that you described.
