I have a 1995 Mark VIII with the following buttons on the roof for actuating the moonroof:
Open
Close
Vent
ASC
Anyone have any idea what the ASC means?
Does not show up in any manuals.
Also the moonroof is not operating at this time.
Fuse is ok and ASC lights red when pushed. Red goes out when you push close, however the moonroof will not open, close or vent?
HELP?

That moonroof is a aftermarket unit from ASC corporation. I had a Mark VII with that roof, and I think the ASC switch makes the open/close function a one touch action. Push the open close switch ONCE with the ASC on or off. I bet it will fully open with a touch.
If this is malfunctioning, find a dealer of ASC stuff...talk to your local dealer to see where they get their ASC stuff installed/repaired if you can't find them in the phone book.

If you press the ASC button you will notice it turns red. Right now, with it green, notice how the sunroof closes automatically whenn you turn the car off? Well when you press the ASC button while the roof is open, the roof will not close when the car is turned off. The ASC button works as an override button. ;)

Currently the moonroof does nothing.......will not vent or open.
I contacted ACS and they claim it is a malfunctioning module which they have available. Only problem is they are hesitant to sell to anyone who is not an authorized installer.
Since I am not an authorized installer I am trying to get them to sell me the module. According to their tech rep. it is a plug in replacement.Sounds like an easy fix, the hardest part may be to get them to return my phone call and sell me the module.
Thanks for taking the time to respond.

Let me know if you want to get the module. I can get a discount at Brown Daub (if they can order it) there in your town, if that's were you live. I'm in Easton.
I have the full wire drawings and a 90 manuel.
My drawing does not show a control module but you may have a different setup.

Thanks for the effort. I found an ASC dealership in Horsham not far from where I need to be on business tomorrow.
I am just a few miles from Brown/Daub.
I eliminated the cats and replaced the exhaust with a 2.5" aluminized exhaust from the manifolds to exhaust tips.I replaced the mufflers with 5.0 mustang factory stainless steel mufflers and added the K&N air filter. Also remounted the air suspension sensors 1" lower. Car has a real attitude just sitting still. I also added adapters to allow the use of Lincoln LS factory alloy wheels.
The car is also Black with Saddle.Real unique combination that you just don`t see.
I drive 35,000 miles a year and am trying to get mileage up around 28 or better.
Getting the windows tinted (slightly) on Saturday.Hope to have on the road next week.
Thanks for your help.

Ok sir, sounds like a good looker. I'm sure I will know the car if I see it in the future. At the dealer parts department always try to get Fred to help you with parts and mention the guy with the Mark 7 that buys parts there. And ask for a price break. I won't hurt. Tell him I sent you there.

I will keep my eye out for yours also, however by the looks of your modifications I may have a hard time focusing on the blurrrrrrrrr.
If you see me flag me down,I would like to check out your workmanship.
Thanks for the info.
I am currently setting up an account with Brown Daub to obtain the best price possible.
I will be sure to ask about you.
