Good info Mike... But what is the firing order of the DOHC 4.6? What is the Overdrive ratio in the transmission in a Mark VIII? Where is the fuel filter located in a Mark VIII? Are the front and rear calipers and discs the same? Is the HP and dual exhaust on a Mark VIII as previously stated, the same as an LSC? Are the wheels really directional or are they all the same? Just curious, Glad the board is back and thanks for your help!!!!!!!!!

I'll get that info to ya in my spare time:) (you know it anyway Mad). The listing IS for a Mark VIII LSC(mine) not the STD. STD doesn't have Dual exhaust, 10 less ponies, no 3.27 rear end. The wheels, they are directional and can be put on backwards, depending on your opinion of which way they should point!

Keep the shiny side up!

Thanks Mike. By directional I always thought the wheels were not interchangeable from side to side, is this so? I asked the question about the fuel filter cause it took me a couple hours to find it and thought the info might be helpful for others coming from the forum moderator. As far as the firing order, this info is mandatory for those who dare to change spark plug wires. Oh well, your doing a great job and I'm glad the board is back.
Actually, the shiny side of my car is down at all times. LOL

The "Lacy Spoke" Wheels are Directional, If you swap them side to side they will point "the wrong way" I haven't looked for the Fuel Filter yet (not over 25K miles yet on my 98)
and the firing order I'm still looking for. 2nd gen's don't have plug wires because of the Coil on Plug arrangement, I haven't done that task either. I guess they don't cast it into the manifold anymore?
Hell, I need to get under there, I'm spending my time working on a SBC. What do you think about a MSD 6AL with a Blaster 2 Coil and a Crank trigger for a 283 CI topping out at 8000 RPM?:)

The 6al is the best there is for street/strip use. The crank trigger is not really necessary but it will work fine as a trigger. What are you going to use to fill the distributor hole? Why not just use a billet MSD distributor and be done with it? 8K RPM? Your kidding, right?
A 355 turning 5K will walk on any 283 at 8K rpm and they will cost the same to build.

Actually it will be a MSD distributor, the crank trigger is to eliminate the "flex" in the distributor drive train. The "experts" claim up to 10 degrees of drivetrain variation in the stock arrangement. I'm limited to 305 CI for Class designation. The engine is already balanced etc for the 8K redline. Current drivetrain will put me over the class record (185MPH) at 7700 RPM. If I go to a 355CI motor then the record goes to 214MPH. That 30 MPH is hard to get!

Thanks for the feedback!

The fuel filter on a Mark VIII is located behind the right inner splash shield behind the right front wheel. :)

I don't know the firing order but here is the spark plug wire connections, match the plug numbers to the left or right magneto. If this is not what mad is looking for don't be mad.

--------FIREWALL----------
-----4 plug number 8------
-----3 plug number 7------
-----2 plug number 6------
-----1 plug number 5------

left 6 3 magnetos 7 2 right
left 1 5 magnetos 4 8 right
--------radiator-----------
