Hey all,
I am putting a new stereo in my 1993 Mark and don't know where to drill a hole in my firewall to route a 4-gauge power cable from the amp to the battery.

I looked around and it looks like the cable should come from the passenger side and go in front of the radiator...then over to the battery. There is a grommet for EEC-IV on the passenger side of the firewall, but I don't know if I should use this place.

HELP!!!

Drilling the pre-existing grommet in the passenger side seems like the logical way to go unless you are willing to drill the firewall of the drivers side (if there is not already a hole there). Seems like this might allow for some engine noise interference in your system if you already have other stereo cables on that side and you run the power cable too close to them...just my .02

Thanks everyone,

I got it DONE (man, that was tough!) by poking a hole in the grommet on the Passenger side. I am not sure if it is for the engine computer, because the computer is on the driver's side of the dash(???)

Anyway, the system is FANTASTIC! Factory stereos are okay, but it's like a dream in there now. Doing things like installing aftermarket tweeters in the factory JBL door enclosures has made a night and day difference. Ford has made a nice place to put tweeters in those doors...they shoot right at you!

If you like to drive your Mark VIII, this is one worthwile modification. Thanks!
