The 97 & 98 Marks don't have plug wires. They have the Cobra coil-on-plug system. I've heard that copper plugs give better performance but need to be replaced more often than the platinum ones.

thanks for the info jack.can you tell me how often is often on the coper plugs? also i just installed a superchip in my car.of coarse i took it for a spin before on the road before i had it installed so i can make a comparison.i floored it. it was nice .when i installed the chip, there was more power definatelly, but as i accellerated i heard the lifters knocking.was it the gas i put in before possibly? or something else.yes i put in 93 octane. hope your thanksgiving was good smile.gif

I change my copper plugs and fuel filter once a year. I had a Superchip for about a year and didn't have any knocking noise. I took out the Superchip and had my EEC reprogramed for my car and mods by Jerry at Inject-Tech. The Superchip was a little better than the stock program but the program I'm running now is much better and knocked .2 to .3 off my 1/4 mile times.
