Has anyone been able to supercharge their Mark VIII??? I have a 96 LSC...I have done quite a bit to it considering the LIMITED availability of aftermarket parts. I have out on the March Ram Air kit for the Cobra (a couple mods necassary to make it work, but was easy and only took about an hour), a Superchip Inc. chip, a B&M shift kit with b&m trick shift fluid(actually kicks sideways when hitting second- leaving 1&1/2 ft tracks), a 9 1/2 in. stall speed, and a K&N filter. I whip GT's and pre-95 F-body's all day long but want to run with the newer F bodies and cobra's which leads to either NOS or a 6-8 lb supercharger. NOS is out..do not want to waste my engine. I have called all centrifical companys--ATI, vortec, powerdyne, paxton, etc and no one makes it for this car. They say mods are easy to make if you have room, but they don't think we do. Just wondering if anyone has tried it, or more importantly got it to work. Do not want to spend $4000 and not be able to get it going. I have one last hope and that is Kenne Bell roots charger. I will give him a call today and see if they have an application for this car and let you know if so. In the mean-time----if anyone knows of something that works....let me know.

If you haven't already, you might want to check out Kenny Brown - http://www.kennybrown.com/. He used to offer mods for Marks.
BTW, Did you install the Superchip yourself? If so, was it an easy install?

Yes steve it is VERY easy. Go to www.superchips.com (http://www.superchips.com) They show you how to pictures right at their site and you can order it there if you would like. Really simple and the chip alone claims 30 hp (though I do not think it is that much personally) and it by itself will chirp your tires between 1st and 2nd gear.

I looked under the driver's dash and it looks like I have to drop the kick panel. Looks like 2 plastic rivets holding it up. Doesn't look like a big deal but did you have to take out the computer box to read the code? I didn't see a wiring harnness.
Thanks,
Steve

I asked my brother about this - he keeps up with the late model mustang crowd and generally knows a hell of a lot more than me about mods.
He said the mustang guys with the 4.6 SOHC motors have not had good results with the superchips. Generally little or no improvement and a lot of detonation at the shift points - even on 92 octane.
Anyone know anything about that?
He also recomended a company in San Jose, Ca http://www.racesystems.com/
The site doesn't load properly in IE5, so the navigation isn't there. I'll see if I can get a phone number, in case anyone is interested.

Dennis has a shop and can help. The superchips have fans and detractors. Overall most Mark VIII owners have had good experiences with a Superchip. ****** has one also plus a lot of Mark VIII Goodies http://www.******.com
