Does anyone have any idea why my compass shows SOUTH or SOUTH EAST no matter what direction I'm going? Is it something that can be quickly repaired or do I have to replace the thing?

LOL
Lost in a paper bag - literally! Been there. . .
If you've got an owners manual, there are instructions in there on how to reset your compass - could be that's all you need. Or someone on here may have the instructions handy for you

Yes. It's because you're at the North Pole (or just a little on the northwest side of it). http://www.lincolnsonline.com/ubb/wink.gif

Thanks for the reply. I didn't think the owner's manual was worth anything. D means drive, R means reverese was the extent of the owner's manual for me. Anyway - I looked up the electronic compass, recalibrated and wham-o. Working better than before. I was going to reset the zone, but couldn't figure out what was the "English/Metric" button was. Thanks for the help again and I got out of the paper bag!

I had the same problem - 1996 Mark LSC, right? oddly enough, the thing just fixed itself. I was going to have it replaced, but never got around to it. After about 1 month it just started working again. There is a way to reset it yourself. I doubt it needs a replacement. How about your lights? Do they work?
