I need to change my front ball joints,on my 86 lsc. So I figure I will go ahead and do the front control arm bushing at the same time. My question is, Which would be better to go with? The orginal rubber bushings or poly style. I drive a lot of black top roads with alot of curves. But I have heard that the poly style amplify more road noise and and bumps. So which would you guys recomend. Thank you for your imput in this. Oh and were is a good source to buy the poly bushings.

WOW,KULTULZ. That is more info than I've been able to find. I have a friend that runs a small auto crushing bizzness. We found one of these engines in a old 60's style suicide doors continental. We could never figure out what it was. Thanks for the info. If you have any more I would like to know it. Thanks

This engine series was Linc-Merc Division (although FORD used the 430 in the 1959/1960 ThunderBird) and powered these cars at the same time the FE Engine Series was introduced for the FORD-EDSEL line (1958)

The last application was 1968 (462ci) in the Continental.

I have gathered some information (and photographs) as once this was a popular hot rod upgrade (had one in a 1957 FORD). In 1958, there was a tri-power version (430ci) that was rated at 400hp (Mercury-Super Marauder).

Really cool site, but I didnt see anything for the Mark VII, you had for cougar, t-bird, and mustang. Do you have them for the Mark VII? Or does t-bird or cougar use the same kind? Thanks

You need to call them (PST) and give them your application.

Let us know what you find out.

Poly suspension bushings transmit lots of road harshness and they squeak. Sports cars and performance cars like Corvette Z06's, Mustang Cobra R, Ferrari's and BMW M3's use rubber bushings. For a Lincoln, I'd strongly suggest standard rubber replacement bushings available at any auto parts store.

I used poly on my front sway bar and had to change them out due to noise. I could never get them completely tight and they would never seat correctly. I would go with rubber.
