I just purchased a Lincoln LS V6 manual, and I have to say it is one of the best cars that I have ever driven. The handling is phenomenal, but the only thing I have to do is add some horsepower.

Citizen1-
That's great. What kind of mods are you considering? Anyone have any idea when/if they intend to mate the manual with a V8?

Where do you live? Can I try a few laps at a Road Track like Mid Ohio, Summit Pt or Watkins Glen? It may be an eye opening experience for the BMW owners at a Driver's Educational or Open Track Club event. I bet it has plenty of power for me & have yet to put a ding in my Mark VII at 100 such events. Oh well, it was just a thought. Perhaps you would run with us there?

Well, in the next couple of weeks, I will be putting on the ground effects. Later on I will be putting on a supercharger that will give me at least 70-90 more HP. But I am not sure which one I want to install yet. But before I do that, I will have to get some better tires so I can take off those stupid government regulated tires.

What is the stock tire's brand, model, diameter and size? I suppose you know www.tirerack.com (http://www.tirerack.com) is the place to buy. What is the wheel width? The ground effects I've seen so far look totally impractical for the street. It appears the front airdam is way too low for anything but show. Where are you from?

Citizen1:
I have searched (in vain, so far) for a supercharger kit designed for my Y2K Lincoln LS V8 Sport. Have you found a source? If someone offers one for the V6, perhaps they will offer one for the V8? Soon?
My only 'mod' so far is to have the oem mufflers cut off and replaced with MagnaFlows. My, my - what a lovely sound it makes now...
Cheers,
- Ray

The tire sizes for the LS are P235/50R 17. But I'm thinking about getting some that are a little Sportier tham what I have now. I haven't found a Supercharger yet, but I have my eyes open for one.

I hope a few LS owners go to some Driver's Ed and open track and fun events at the many road racing track club events. I get tired of only BMW's (and me) at these events.

The engine is actually a Jaguar V8,the same engine in slightly bigger displacement is in the Jag coupe with a supecharger from factory,,maybe someone could find a wrecked one and put it on a V8 LS..

Unfortunately I had to get the Lincoln LS V6 because i opted for the manual transmission. Does Jaguar have a supercharger for a V6??

Speaking of the super charged Jaguar XJR, I had the rare opportunity to drive one yesterday and OH MY GOD is this thing fast. I'm wondering just how close these two motors are, and if it would be possible to install the SC onto the 3.9?
Just a thought. After driving that Jag, I can't imagine why anyone would want a 5 series.....

After seeing the componentry design habits of Ford/Lincoln in recent years, I'd be cautious. They have been carefully balancing the strength and weight of internal engine parts, in an effort to provide minimum reciprocating weight, minimum HVH, minimum cost etc. There is a good chance the blown Jag internals are stronger, resulting in LS meltdown with a blower. You might wait until aftermarket blower companies take a crack at it. It's a lot more enjoyable to read about their failures than your own.

Has anyone seen the Lincoln LS ground effects kit?? I saw it in Car & Driver and I thought it looked pretty good for being only around $800.00. Does anyone recommend any exhaust pipes? Since the LS has true dual exhausts, I was thinking about putting on some B&B's.

Do not be impressed by pricing. Ground effects kits vary widely in quality. You will need to determine the manufacturer and what type of plastic it is, educate yourself on it and get recommendations. It's a little early for any long term experience. I have seen many ground effects kits that will not hold paint, even if prepped properly. I have seen other kits that are brittle and others that warp like an old record when they see summer heat. Those "JC Whitney quality" kits are simply nasty and do not belong on an LS. The Car & Driver ground effects kit I saw for an LS did not appear practical for daily use. The front air dam was quite low and protruding. It appears it might hit bottom often. Keep in mind that aftermarket ground effects kits are a irreversible personal customization that will cause resale value to drop like a rock, even on a sports car like a Corvette. It will be very difficult to sell an LS to the average buyer with one of these kits.

Does anyone know a website where I can find custom parts for the LS??

Check our Links page: Accessories
I have put a link there for LS Spoilers - you might see if that site offers other items for the LS. If you find any other sites I need to add, just let me know.

I'm surprised by how many people actually BOUGHT their LS here. If I bought an LS, the first thing I'd do is spend a grand and get some Xenon bulbs in there. And for those of you who are dieing for a V-8 manual, it's been given the go ahead at Ford. Many are calling the LS the classic of the future because of the big after market developing for it. Bravo Ford for coming out with a Lincoln that kicks ass all over the track.

How are you so sure that they are coming out with a V8 manual?? I haven't heard any news about it besides the Concept LS at the car show that was a V8 manual.

In the forums at Blue Oval News, one of the members spoke with a person in the engineering team for the LS and said that the V-8 Getrag has been given the go ahead. They had been planning it for a long time to begin with.
Of course this isn't official by any means.

Speaking of shit... I had it all over my LS the other day. I hit a nice cow pie on a country road. It went all over the side and the wheel well!

You think your LS is the shit, I didn't have my LS for a day when being the nice guy I am I took my wife to a garden center to get some seeds. By the time we left I had 160 lbs. of cow manure stuffed in the trunk. In exactly 22-1/2 hours my wife had turned my shiny new LS into a shit wagon!
For the record the LS rides almost as nice fully loaded as it does empty.

Yea, next step is to pull out the rear seat, take a can opener to the roof and make an LS Ranchero.
