I have a 1990 Continental Signature Series and just recently had my AC checked out and charged up with freon, now theirs times when I turn my ac on max it blows just hot air out. I was told my AC was in good condition. Has anyone had that problem?? Once in a while it works just fine, but other times nothing. It just comes on and off when it wants, I'm confused.

Sounds to me like the control head is freaking out a little to me. They were probably refering to the "Mechanical Part" (outside parts)of the a/c system being o.k. BUT...if they had to top it off with freon, it has a leak.

My 92 Towncar had a heater air mixer door stick open (electrically operated but the actuator shaft was sticking). Sometimes the door/shaft would work, sometimes not. When it stuck open, the heater overwhelmed the AC. I managed to spray it with Teflon spray and worked it back and forth by changing the temperature setting until it freed up. Thank god it freed up since the dealer has to take the dash out to replace the motor.
