Help! My bosses wife has a 92 TC and she is having problems with the air suspension. She had the bags replaced about two weeks ago, but the car still sits low on the passenger rear. I told her that she should not drive her car off a cliff, but that she probably needed a compressor too.

Could you tell me where it is and if any other parts should be replaced as well?
I know where it is on my LSC, but could not locate hers under the hood. I saw a hose going into the front fender, is that where it is?

Thanks in advance,
Dean

The compressor is under the windshield washer container. You have to remove the container, pop up a cover and voila there's the compressor/dryer/vent assembly.

But first, be sure the air suspension switch in the trunk is on and check the air suspension fuse in the fusebox next to the battery.

There are many posts on this site on the subject including some overall troubleshooting and replacement tips. Search on "Air Suspension".

Be sure to understand how the system works first, it's somewhat different than a LSC. Basically, one height sensor in the back tells the compressor to vent to lower and tells the compressor to run to raise the car. Each bag has an electric air solenoid to hold air in the bag whenever the air suspension computer is not asking the compressor to raise or lower. Vent functions usually go first, followed by the compressor function. It bolts in from underneath the car.

Then of course, we could jump you over to the AC forum, where Bluecollar is "da man" on Air Suspension and has a troubleshooting CD you can buy.

Thanks Richard,

We're getting a rebuilt from Arnott today. The compressor was corroded from water in the system. We tried to free it up on Tuesday, but it just would not cooperate.
Now I know why I see some low-rider TC's around town. It is not because they want to be in style, it is because there is no air in the system. Man, how ugly. I'll bet the ride is pretty nasty.

Anyway, thanks for the help!
