OK guys, correct me if I'm wrong here. I know there has been some variation in the keyless modules from year to year, but they are all basically the same black box.
1) Locate the 5-digit factory-programmed code which is on a sticker affixed to the underside of the decklid (i.e. trunk lid). If it's missing, it's also on a card included in the owner's packet (which you don't have). It's also on a label which is affixed to the keyless entry module itself. If you can't find the code anywhere, try talking to the dealer and see if it's recorded in their system. If it's not in OASIS, Ford probably has a record of it and the dealer can retrieve this info by providing your VIN.
BTW, I HIGHLY recommend memorizing the original code! If your battery is ever drained or disconnected for any reason (or a certain fuse blows) your new code will be erased. If you know the original code you can never get locked out.
2) Type this original code into the keypad on the door.
3) Within 2-3 seconds, hit the "1-2" button.
4) Within 2-3 seconds type in a new 5-digit code of your choice.
5) After typing in the new code, lock the doors by pressing the "7-8" and "9-0" keys at the same time.
Depending on the year, your doors may lock and then unlock to signal that the new code has been accepted. Try the new code and see if it works.
Remember, after entering the code you can press the "3-4" key to unlock the remaining doors, and the "5-6" key to open the trunk. Pressing "7-8" and "9-0" keys at the same time lockes all doors and activates the alarm (if installed).
