The stock wiper blades that came with my 03 Aviatior screeched so bad that I put another pair on. Same screech. Aren't there quieter wiper blades?

I think all wiper blades are the same. I have found Rain X to help tremendously though. I think the warmer climate may be making your situation worse as the rubber may be softer in the heat and more tacky.

Corpus?! Man, I sure do miss Corpus. Grew up there for the most part.
Life sure seemed simpler back then.

Anyway, about your question...
Your windshield may have a coat of wax/etc on it from the automatic carwash.
Clean your windshield with a decent glass cleaner or better yet, isopropyl alcohol.

If that doesn't help then perhaps a different brand blade.
I've had good luck with Bosch, Trico or Anco in the past.
No need to spend extra on the triple bladed
stuff.

Thanks for the input. I will give the alcohol and Rain X a try.

Franco, Corpus is bigger now but still has the small town feel and great weather. No hurricanes in 24 yrs and no freezes in 4. Love it here.

I second the Rain-X. Follow the directions on the bottle. I find it works better if I put 2 coats on rather than just one.

Third on the Rain-X. Our Focus is HORRIBLE for loud windshield wipers, and it shut it right up.

Like said earlier, layer it up.
