So, anybody changed plugs on their 5.4L DOHC yet? Let's hear about it :D . I want to know your tricks to see if they're better than mine ;) . I'm hoping somebody here is smarter than me tongue.gif .

BTW, Haynes is almost useless on this topic. Other than pointing you in the general direction and then you're on your own.

'Ive changed them out in the expeditions. The job requires patience. Removing the rear left and right coil packs are tough.

Didn't you have a big exhaust pipe (EGR pipe, I don't know) right in the way of the driver's side spark plug cover? I had to disconnect it from the exhaust manifold. It seems like a stupid design to me.

Once everything is out of the way, removing coil packs is the easy part. Does the Expedition have that confounded pipe in the way?

Not that I recall. You do need to loosen the fuel rail bolts. It makes it easier.
