Help!! Just purchased a 2001 Navagator and I don't have the code for the keypad. I saw in the Tech Area that it's on the computer, were's the computer located on a Navagator?

Thanks

Well, I am the moderator here but have a TC and a Blackwood, not a Gator.

However, in the Wood, the PC is located on the inner firewall on the passenger side under the dash behind a removable piece of moulding. As well, in my owners book apparatus is a small either plastic or metal, cannot remember, card that has the code on it. In the TC, I have a similar card and it is also typed on a small plastic strip located on one of the trunk hinges. I never looked for a similar strip on the Wood.

Try those possibilities and get back to us if someone with a Gator has not already answered your question.

Looked through the Owner's Manual, which stated the code is on the computer. I can also take it to the Dealership to recover it which wants $75.00  ! I pulled the panel under the glove box which only covers some A/C ducting and the passenger side kick panel which has the Fuel Cut-Off switch behind it but no computer.

HELP!

OK, I will try to get my local friendly service writer to give us a hand.

By the Way, I forgot to give you the mandatory whipping. You have a key fob that should open the doors, you have a key to open the drivers door, why do you insist on using the keypad? I said above that I do not own a Gator but surely you got the key fob thingie with your vehicle and you should have gotten two. I'm trying to be a bit non-serious here but the keypad method of opening the doors/trunk etc. seems to be sort of old school and most owners I have seen post here use the key fob thingie.

You are correct sir, but when I go to the gym, park etc, I can lock the Gator and keep everything inside locked up tight including the keys as so I don't need to lug is all around!!! I got into this habit with my Eddie Bauer Explorer and old habits are hard to break!!

I will consider myself repremanded

The '01 Expedition has a blackbox directly above the brake pedal with a 5 digit # on it..
The '00 Navigator has a whitebox under the drivers side dash with the code # on it..
The '01 Navigator has a graybox under the drivers side dash, way up there with the # on it..
The '02 F250 has a blackbox behind the brake pedal, on the firewall with the # on it..

In all cases, the sticker with the number is looking right at you.

Sorry, I should not have shot the zinger, chalk it up to the current situation.

You are lucky you can lock your keys in your Gator and leave it outside. I would not care to do that here in the Atlanta area which is gaining a really bad rep for car-jacking and auto theft. Hope you get the code OK.

Thanks to all, got the code just where Steven said it would be :D

P.S. I don't leave everything in plain sight!!! And come to think of it, maybe it's a bad habit redface.gif

It's under the dash, drivers side, upper left corner on the firewall. The computer is a big box with a white sticker that has a 5 digit code. That's the factory code that can't be changed so be carefull with it.
