I am new to Lincoln's & this board.
I bought a new 2004 Navigator last month, and have Speech Recognition Problems with the GPS/Audio System. I have recently heard that a lot of people have had the same issues.
System does not recognize and/or Interprets the command incorrectly MOST of the time.
Dealer has changed out the microphone, but that didn't solve the problem.
Any input would be appreciated.

Hmmm, I haven't had that problem with our 2003 Aviator. Thanks for registering, but we don't have too many Lincoln Truck members with Navigation, so I don't know if we can help much. :(

I had trouble with mine in the beginning, but it now works fine. The key is to speak in a clear voice and not scream. I do know my wife who has a very hard southern drawl can't make it activate. I would imagine those in Boston may also have a bit of difficulty as well. What the He^% is a Ca anyway???

There are crazy drivers everywhere. They're the twits doing 65 in the fast lane and 55 in the middle lane. (among other things) I think the whole country's driver ed and licensing system should be overhauled. The Germans have something better...

I tend to have some difficulty getting rcognition, mostly when I say home, it thinks I am saying higher education.
I find it is more the inflection in my voice, and I have figured out how to say most things. I have similar problems with the Mobile ease phone, so I don't think the problem is specific to the Navigation system.

The more I play with mine I see its really about enunciation and talking at a normal (not fast and not too slow) rate.

this is supposed to be helpful??? I wonder it you can eliminate certain terms or have it reprogrammed to your voice, kinda like a cell phone does on voice commands.
