Its either a relay or the multifunction switch on the steering column (wiper, turn signal, hazard).

Sorry I don't own a V6 Conti nor do I have the wiring diagrams to isolate the problem. I would recommend getting a Ford or Helms manual from Ebay if you plan on having this car for a while. smile.gif

If I remember correctly,(from a long time ago...), the wiper relay under the dash behind/near the fuse panel loses it's solder joint, (looks like a small black box) usually you can resolder or just replace. I would take it apart and have a good look at the solder joints. The multifunction switches in the early 90's were OK to say the least, mostly they wouldn't fail completely, but the wipers would park in funny spots and the intermittent setings would be screwed up too, ( dirt in stalk)....Rich

ok for the first reply the steering column works fine ( hazzerd turn and brights but the wipers dont )...for the sec...ok, the wipers them selves dont work at all, but even after i put the new motor in for the wipers they still are in a funny off place but the dont even turn on i am wondering also where is the relay box near the fuse box i have no i dea what it looks like,( looks like more then one black box) but i went to look for a book on this car do they even make books on conti?? soo confused

I will look at my owners manual and my repair manual also when I get home. I know there is a relay I just don't know where it is.

Its that relay. I betcha the motor was never a problem, if you can return it, you can have a nice dinner with the $$$ instead. smile.gif

They are nice cars...problem is you need a big shop manual to properly diagnose any problem. Mucho complicated!

If nothing else, grab a Chiltons for the Taurus/Sable at amazon.com or a used bookstore.

The Wiper Control Module is mounted to the right side of the steering column on a bracket, it slides onto 2 thin sheet metal rails and it is about 3" x 3" squarish in shape, the connector harness should come down from the top. If all you hear is clicking, try to feel the module while rotating the wiper control stalk....take it apart and look for a bad solder joint (if so inclined)....Rich

PS, did you check the 8.25 amp circuit breaker?

yeah i checked the 8.25 breaker and got a new one and that didnt help so the only thing i can think of would be the relay i hope at least

you have to release the two metal spring tabs from the back of the relay, it should come out after that
