I have a 97 Continental that shows
ABS warning light and Check Traction Control all the time soon as key is on. I have a shop CD and have checked the simple sutff (fuses, etc) but troubleshooting seems to require special electronic equip. Has anybody had this problem? Thanks for any help.

Look at the master cylinder and the booster. See if the booster is wet. If it is, you must replace the master cylinder. You will need to prebleed the master cylinder and the complete brake system at least 2 times to completely remove air from the system. If the system is not leaking and the ABS pump does not cycle on when you key on, you will need to inspect the ABS system fuse. If the fuse is not blown you will then need to have the DTC's read by some one with a scanttool that can pull the ABS codes for this system. This system in not like the older LC's and TC's.
