I recently have experienced that when getting into the 98 Conti, that the electronic memory that remembers the amount of milage, mpg, which driver last used the car, etc. always resets to Driver 0, milage = 0.00 mpg, etc. Is the FLASH memory the problem? Is this user easy to reset (to tell it to remember again)? Where is it?
Thanks for any advice.
PS Any suggestions where to purchase a large service guide for that year? Helms?

I can't help you with your memory issue...
You might try searching eBay for "Lincoln Service CD". Many of the service manuals are available on CD for later model cars.
Just a thought.

Well! Interesting info for everyone! My first inquiry above was for any info from folks about why the car suddenly didn't recognize which driver the remote was, would reset the trip mpg to 0.00 every time the car was restarted and a few other anomalies in the electronic message center. I have had to replace the battery in the vehicle just yesterday and now suddenly all the original complaints are gone! Everything is back to tip-top working order! Didn't know the Conti had electronic smarts to back off on the power to support the electronics if the battery was getting low in output! I hope that is the answer to this! Heaven forbid something is draining the battery below the threshold and I will have the same problem in the future!
