On a 1997 Connie...how does one get to the housing on package shelf to get to bulb?..any help would be apprec. thanks Bob :confused:

Wow, I haven't posted here in a long time... haven't had time between the two or three hours of sleep I get now...
But... In my 1996 Taurus it's accessed through the trunk... look under the package shelf in the trunk. In the Taurus the wire and socket assebly twisted out of the reflector.
By they way, they're probably the 'edge contact' type bulbs, and are smaller than the normal turn/brake ones (at least in our cars).

If I remember correctly, there are plastic push pins that hold the carpeted panel to the inside of the trunk. You will need a forked tool to pop them off (Autozone has a door trim puller) and then you can access that area.

Not sure on your 97.
On my 92,you just pull on the carpeted cover that is on the inside.It pops loose and there you have access to the bulbs that have melted the plastic cover because you sit in traffic with your foot on the brake the whole time! :D
