Hi,
Does anyone know where the cabin filter is on a 1997 Continental and how to replace it? Thanks.

The filter should be under the hood, at the base of the windshield under plastic trim towards the passenger side. The trim is probably screwed on or snapped down. You will see venting slots over the filter. Take off the trim, drop in the new filter and you're done.

Its pretty easy to replace, remove that black plastic on the passenger side, under the windshield wiper. IIRC, there are good instructions in the owner's manual too.
I found the filter to be $5 cheaper if you get it at a parts store. Pep Boys stocks the correct Ford cabin air filter by Purolator.

Thanks guys. It was right were you said it was. I couldn't seem to find it in the owners manual. I'm glad I checked it because it was packed full.

Glad it worked out! Best of luck with the car and change the filter out every 20,000 miles or so. More often if you have bad allergies. smile.gif

Along those lines,
anyone know if the 92 Conti has a cabin filter and where it located?
My new 01 ford has one and makes a world of difference.

Sorry no cabin filter on those models. If it could have one, it would be in the same place. All Fords get cabin air from the passenger side of the firewall.
The first Ford with it was the Contour (yeah!) then the 95 Conti, and 96 Taurus/Sable.
