Someone once posted a success story on installing a NeoChanger 10 Disc unit (http://www.ssiamerica.com/products/neochanger/) ,search can't find that post and I'd like to hear more on the install.

How's the unit working?
1) Is it fully operational in all modes CD, CD-R, MP3 without any problems?
2) Any CD burning issues?
3) Any CD, or Track seeking issues?

I have $250 bucks burning a hole in my pocket and I was doing this mental debate, fix my changer or get the NeoChanger.

My current JBL changer stopped recognising disc's, then the cartridge got stuck inside. I was recommended to a local shop that can "do a great job" fixing the JBL unit.

The NeoChanger sounds great, comes with all wires to directly connect to our Lincolns head units..plug and play.

On the other hand, I came across a rant on eOpinions.com (http://www.epinions.com/content_130153156228) where the guy had issues with all my questions above, and then some. There's two other eOpinion reviews (http://www.epinions.com/pr-SSI_America_Neo_Changer-10_Disc_Universal_CD_Car_CD_Changer/display_~reviews) that seem more positive.

So, that leaves me with LincolnsOnline looking for experiences from trusted friends.

When i used to install them ive never heard any problems, but ive had problems in anything with CD-R that have really cheap drives or not written properly.

I like Alpine (http://www.alpine-usa.com/) electronics myself. You can probably get an adapter so that your factory head unit can control their 6 disc changer (CHM-S630). Check out Alpine at etronics.com or a similar site (http://www.etronics.com/product.asp?stk_code=alpchms630) for a better price for your stereo equipment.

Well...
I finally broke down and took the JBL changer to the recommended shop.

Can't say exactly what they did, but it works fine now.

Their an "over the counter" type of shop, so I had to pull the changer and re-install it myself.

Still has problems reading some CD-R's but that was the case before all this anyway.

Cost me $45.
