have a 91 conti exc. with a jbl system, I want to change the head unit to a pioneer cd player other than the harness adaptor do i need anything else. Thanks Bob

Yes, you might also need a dash kit, it holds the HU in place. Member Pro-five-oh would probably know if you need it or not.

Make sure that harness has the amp bypass in it. Metra number 70-5514

Unless someone else knows a place where it can be had for cheaper. If your budget is tight and you don't mind a little sacrifice in clarity, you can just get the adapter from WalMart for $6. They are really all you need if you plan on getting a bigger amp in the future too.
You MIGHT need an adapter plate to install the stereo in the dash, but I don't think so. Most 1990s Lincolns only need the metal cage that comes with your stereo: you put that in, lock the tabs into the Ford dash...then slide the stereo in.
Use the flush mount kit that comes with the stereo...then put the Ford trim panel over the stereo for a clean look. There is no need to have the stereo popping out of the dash!
