what size speakers will fit in the front of a 2000 ls with alpine system, not the ones in the doors but the ones sort of in the center console i guess. If any one knows specific brands which deffinetly fit and sound good that would be great. Thanks

Go here -> Crutchfield (http://www.crutchfield.com/S-tqqZffJrsqz/cgi-bin/autoinfo/autoinfo.asp?lp=) It has your car in there already, and it will show you every product they sell that will fit.

Ive checked that already, for some reason the only tell you about the doors and the rear deck not the other set up front

Worst case scenario would be to try taking one out and measuring. Try giving the dealer a call first though. They should be able to find out.

If the doors are 5x7s, you can get component speakers (5x7 woofer in the door) and mount the tweeter behind the grille in the console.
Any component set will work, I have done this to 6-speaker Fords (two on each door, one door/one dash, or in your case: one on the door, one in the console) and I think it sounds awesome.
If you like to cut up stuff...remove the Ford tweeter in the console and strip it down to the frame...including removing the magnet. Then you can use the hardware in the tweeter kit to mount the tweeter in the Ford speaker. Then you put the Ford speaker back in the console like the factory intended. Clean and simple. smile.gif
